Dr. Conor Hegewald, DO
Board Certified Psychiatrist | Integrative Mental Health Specialist | Founder of Wind and Water Psychiatry
Dr. Hegewald is an adult psychiatrist with a passion for integrative, patient-centered care. Born and raised in Bend, Oregon, he has lived throughout the Pacific Northwest and brings a strong connection to the region and its communities. He earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific Northwest (COMP-NW) in Lebanon, Oregon, and completed his psychiatry residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis.
Dr. Hegewald works primarily with adults and has a particular interest in supporting individuals as they navigate major life transitions. His clinical focus includes mood and anxiety disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and Persistent Depressive Disorder. He also treats conditions including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Bipolar Disorder, and Binge Eating Disorder.
His treatment approach is grounded in a three-pronged model that integrates medication management, psychotherapy, and lifestyle interventions. He primarily utilizes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with an emphasis on values-based work and mindfulness. His therapeutic approach also incorporates elements of Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), particularly in supporting healthy changes in sleep, diet, exercise, and relationships.
Outside of his clinical work, Dr. Hegewald is an avid yoga practitioner and certified yoga instructor. He enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and skiing, reading, and connecting with family and friends.
